Bippie's Smothered Fries (that's right...I'm Bippie)




MMmmMMmmm doesn't that look delicious? Well, it most certainly was!


Smothered french fries are such a yummy, shareable dish, and oh so easy to make. I thought I'd post these babies on here for you to try out at your own home.




Yep...that's bacon. Are you drooling yet? Now that I've got your attention, below is a list of all the ingredients you will need to prepare this dish.



Ingredients:
6-8 russet potatoes
5 strips of bacon
minced garlic
garlic salt/pepper
onion powder
paprika
italian seasoning
parsley flakes
vegetable oil (canola, extra virgin olive oil, whatever your favorite may be is fine)
shredded mozzarella
shredded sharp cheddar
sour cream

Directions:
~Broil bacon strips, set aside on a towel to drain.
~Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
~Slice the potatoes lengthwise, spread out on a cookie sheet, toss with the oil.
~Sprinkle the garlic salt, pepper, onion powder, paprika, minced garlic, and italian seasoning generously over the potatoes (I hardly ever use measurements)



~Bake the fries for about 20-25 minutes, or until desired tenderness is reached.
~Plate the fries immediately. Sprinkle the mozzarella, sharp cheddar, and crumbled bacon on top.
~ Top with generous spoonfuls of sour cream and be sure to sprinkle a few parsley flakes on top. A green garnish (no matter how small) ALWAYS makes a dish look even more appetizing. It's very appealing to the eye. See?



Serve immediately and enjoy! I made this dish for the girls at my women's bible study last week. Aren't they cute? My sis is the one digging in!

Oh, my goodness! I'm wiping drool off of my keyboard. We love smothered fries, but only get them when we go out to certain places to eat. I'm definitely trying this one.

Thanks everyone! These fries go over really well. Every time I make them they're gone in about 10 minutes. I'm loving all these recipe linky parties. I found soo many good recipes to try out just from one Tuesday! I'm getting so hungry just looking at all of them, haha.

I almost didn't look at this recipe but I am glad I did since its baked! I love fries smothered in carnitas, its a California thing, but way too fattening. This looks like something we could do!

Haha, that's actually really funny, Brenda. I'm the same way about not wanting to eat really fattening food all the time. In moderation, yes, but all the time? NO!
I hear you on that one.

I usually use turkey bacon (or low sodium), 2% cheeses, extra virgin olive oil, bake instead of fry, and use light/fat free sour cream. Waaay less calories than at chain restaurant, for sure!
